Terms of Service

Effective 23 July 2026 · applies to the BoatSprint game (browser, Google Play and App Store editions) and this website.

The short version: play fair, don't be a jerk with your captain name or shared races, and remember any in-app purchase is handled by Apple/Google/our payment provider, not by us directly. Break the fair-play or acceptable-use rules and we can reset your leaderboard entries, rename you, or shut your account down. See our Privacy Policy for what data this involves.

Playing the game

BoatSprint is provided as-is, for fun. We don't guarantee it'll be available, bug-free or online at any given moment — the game is fully playable offline regardless, since your progress lives on your device first (see the Privacy Policy). We can change, add to or discontinue any feature, including the online leaderboard, backup accounts and platform linking, at any time.

Fair play

The leaderboard, shared races and challenge links are meant to reflect real runs. Don't use cheats, exploits, emulator/memory-editing tools or automated input to submit scores or runs, and don't try to manipulate another player's results. We can remove, hide or reset any score, run or shared-race entry we reasonably believe is illegitimate, without notice.

Accounts, captain names & shared content

Backup accounts, recovery codes and device credentials are your responsibility to keep — we don't hold an e-mail address or password to verify you're you, so someone with your recovery code can recover your account in your place. Your captain name appears publicly on the leaderboard and on any race you share; pick something you're happy to have public and that isn't impersonating, harassing or illegal. We can rename, remove or block content (captain names, shared race links) that breaks this, and can suspend or delete an account used to abuse the service.

Purchases

Some in-game items are bought with real money through Apple's App Store, Google Play Billing, or our payment provider on other platforms — the purchase itself is a transaction with that store, under its own terms and refund policy, not with us directly. Any in-game currency or item you buy or earn has no cash value, can't be exchanged for money or transferred between accounts, and only exists inside the game.

No warranty & liability

BoatSprint is offered without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We're not liable for losses from service interruptions, account loss (e.g. a lost device with no recovery code saved), or lost in-game progress or purchases, beyond what applicable consumer law requires.

Children

BoatSprint is suitable for all ages. If you're a parent or guardian letting a child play, these terms — especially around purchases and public captain names — apply to their use of the game too.

Changes

If these terms change, the new version is published here with an updated date. Continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated terms.
